Fun Birthday for Quarter Life!
I am turning 25 in May and I want to take a group of around 10-15 people out to a tasty, great dinner! Everyone will be between the ages of 24-26 and have all lived in Manhattan for a couple years. Money is not going to play a huge factor. I typically treat for my birthday every year so this year is no different. Are there any great new restaurants that people recommend? Any places that are great for groups? Any places that have great scenes? Location doesn't necessary matter so much. I should note that pretty much everyone lives downtown (below 14th st) and we generally go out in that same region so preferably a place below Midtown but if there is something that doesn't fit that bill but is great, feel free to mention it.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions!
I think Nuela would work really well for a large group of young people.

Public? They have a great big room, modern food, nice scene, not even outrageously expensive.
If you want new and trendy, you could do Beauty & Essex or Peels. Both good food, a little more of a "scene" than Public.

I just celebrated my 25th two days ago at the Mermaid Inn in the East Village with a group of 10. They gave us the table at the very front so we had a view of the passerby and it was a lovely evening. I LOVE their lobster rolls and have converted all of my friends into huge fans, and everyone had a great time. The grilled cheese with short ribs in also good, for those who don't eat fish in your party. The chocolate pudding dessert comes for free for each person, which is a nice touch. The best part was that because it was a Monday, they have a code on Facebook for 20% off (social media monday deal), so every person in our whole party got 20% off of whatever they ordered-including alcohol! And the staff were very gracious despite our raucousness.
