meal or food delivery options for the edgell road area of framingham

hey everyone,

i'm a former bostonian in search of some vegetarian meal or food delivery options for the edgell road area of framingham.

my dear friend starts chemo this friday.
cooking is pretty low on her list of priorities right now.
since i'm now in texas, i can't make things and bring them by.
so, i am looking for good delivery options.

here in austin, we have a great local/sustainable/organic food delivery service, greenling.
is there anything similar, other than peapod?

if all else fails, a whole foods gift card is my last option.

(p.s. i recall some of you from years past, when i posted under another username, blandina.)

just a bit of advice, you should avoid trying to send her any spicy or Asian food until you find out how her tastebuds respond to the chemo. Having just finished my own treatment a few months ago, I could not eat soy sauce or ginger. Soy tasted like aluminum, and ginger burned my throat. But everybody is different.

she may not want to eat much at all...flowers might be more comforting than food.

Sorry I can't help with specific suggestions though. Delivery options are fairly rare out here in the burbs.

That's good and thoughtful advice Cat!

Most of us of a certain temperament (er, obsession) immediately leap to FOOD! when someone needs comfort. Sometimes that makes perfect sense, sometimes not so much. I am reminded of a buddy who recently lost his mom after a long illness. Another friend of ours immediately decided he needed lots of food and arranged for delivery. Awfully nice gesture, but turned out the friend had taken off for a much needed break after the care-taking was over, and the food went uneaten.

thanks for the information, and i wish you continued good health!

basically, i was thinking "what are some of the things that she won't have the energy for?", with cooking being one of them.

definitely something to keep in mind, thanks!

Try this maybe? I don't have personal experience with delivery or catering, but have eaten there in the past. I hope your friend does well.

          thanks anniep.
the route 9 area has TONS of chains and whatnot, so weeding through the internet to find something a bit more interesting has posted quite the challenge.

there is a home delivery service called chef mobile (chefmobil2@gmail.com). I think you can look at their menus on line and order. I believe they deliver 5 meals, each of which just needs to be microwaved.
