Frozen Chocolate Croissants---Williams Sonoma

Have you ever had their chocolate croissants? Just wondering if they are exceptional. Otherwise, is there another brand that you've had that were? Thank you!

The W-S croissants are fantastic. Follow the directions exactly, though.

Yes, they are expensive. I usually splurge on them for Christmas.

My husband compares all croissants to the ones he's had in Paris. This is a birthday present and I'd like to surprise him with them for a birthday breakfast. (cheaper than a plane ticket to Paris!)

Paris is my favorite city and I don't think the W-S croissants will disappoint. As I mentioned, though, make sure you follow their instructions (I believe you have to take them out of the freezer the night before, so you'll have to hide them). There is nothing to compare to a WARM croissant out of the oven...buttery, flaky, chocolate-y...

I might have to put my own order in, forget about waiting until December! :)

The Williams Sonoma croissants and the Trader Joe croissants are both made by Galaxy Desserts. I've tried both and you can't tell a difference. Both require you to proof them overnight on a baking tray, then bake. The only difference is the WS are $40 and the TJ ones are $4.

            Boogiebaby,
Thanks for the very valuable advice. Of course, TJ and WS represent two entirely different marketing models, so the more practical among us can take advantage of the price difference.

I ordered the WS chocolate croissants and we had them this morning. They are excellent! I would say they are very close to Angelina's or Pierre Herme. I had previously had TJ's, but I don't think they are as good as WS. I understand that they are made by the same company. But I doubt that it is exactly the same product. . At 6:30AM my husband said, "you are the best wife in the world". Yeah, that was worth what I paid.

Trader Joe's Chocolate croissants are delicious, and a much better value at $3.99 a box.
