Smoked Marlin - anyone know where to find it in L.A.?

I was recently in Jakarta and got taken for lunch to some fancy sandwich place in an exotic gigantic shopping mall. I had a sandwich on really good dark bread, made of very smoky smoked marlin, arugula, thin sliced sweet onion and horseradish and it was great. I'd like to recreate it now that I'm home. I know a lot of places for smoked fish here in town, but I can't recall seeing smoked marlin anywhere. Any ideas?

I wonder if one of the Mariscos Chente restaurants would accommodate you (seeing as how they bring it in from Mexico on a some what regular basis)? You could check with them and see. Marlin generally is not sold as a "commercially fished" fish, but for sport.

Just in case a local source doesn't turn up it is available online: http://www.fishfordinner.com/product_...

I would call the Whole Foods in El Segundo. They sell a lot of different "smoked" meats, so they would probably smoke a marlin for you.
