Help for foodie basketball fan

My husband and I will be in NOLA this week for a few short days of all the great eating and drinking establishments that the city has to offer (or as many as we can squeeze into 2.5 days). My husband is a huge college basketball fan and his team is playing Thursday at noon. I'm wondering if there is somewhere we can go for a fantastic NOLA style lunch and perhaps sit at the bar to watch the game?
Thanks so much!

  1. because of the Saints, a lot of restaurants now have t.v.s in their bars. even the upscale ones. i don't think it'll be a problem.

    1. Crescent City Brewhouse is probably the best place in the FQ to watch sports. They have plenty of TV's on second floor. Coop's has good food and a lot of TV's.

      Crescent City Brewhouse @ 527 Decatur St., New Orleans, LA. 504 - 522 - 0571.
      Coops Place @ 1109 Decatur St., New Orleans, LA. 504 - 525 - 9053.

Gordon Biersch is a Brew Pub in CBD near the FQ. It's NW of The Hilton near the Convention Center and Harrah's Casino offering outstanding drinks and food for lunch and dinner. There are 5 Big Screen TV's. They have a Happy Hour Special Monday/Friday from 4 PM to 6:30 PM with special prices on appetizers and drinks.

      Gordon Biersch @ 200 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 552 - 2739.

      Crescent City Brewhouse
527 Decatur St, New Orleans, LA 70130

Probably not the best spot to watch a game but, if you are really interested in a "fantastic NOLA style lunch", sit at the bar in Emeril's.

        Emeril's Restaurant
800 Tchoupitoulas, New Orleans, LA 70130
