Help ordering from Bon Chon?

  • 2

We're going to try Bon Chon take-out tonight for dinner. (Fairfax location). I wonder if someone can help me decide what to order?

There are 3 of us, with 2 being teenage boys. I'm figuring a mix of the Soy/garlic and spicy, with more of the former than the latter).

Do the chicken orders come with sides? How many wings are in each size (I think they come small, medium, large).

Is there anything besides the chicken that we should try?

Thanks,
Lauren

  1. Hey Lauren,
Bon chon is amazing and I don't think you'll be dissapointed. Here is the run down. The Spicy can be really spicy so I would make sure that everyone in your group likes hot food before I order to much of that. If you have 3 people in your party I would get 2 mediums. I generally get a medium soy garlic, and a medium spicy with a group of three. We always get the wings because I'm a wing fanatic, but the legs are just as good. If your boys eat a lot you could up one of the order to large, just make sure that the order is in line with whether they like spicy food.

The only sides that come with the chicken are pickled jicama pieces, I think its jicama. They give you those for the heat. I would get the fries as well, they do a good job with the fries. Nothing overly special, but a good solid fry.

Make sure you are prepared for the wait, wings take about 35 minutes. You can always call ahead and tell them what time you will be there and place your order. That way as soon as you come in you tell them your name, sit, and they bring it out to you.

If you are going to order at the table I would be there no later than 6PM.

      Thanks.
I ended up ordering a large regular and a small spicy. There were some leftovers after dinner, but none lasted till morning.
The wings, even when we arrived home 30 minutes later, were crispy and delicious. I don't think the spicy adds much, and may even detract. It didn't really have any layered flavor, just tasted like some hot sauce was added to the regular mix.
I did order ahead by phone and it worked great. Since the restaurant is just down the street from my son's school, this makes an easy dinner for when we're in a hurry.
