Dinner After Cubs Game in Mesa

We're going to a Cubs spring training game this Thursday in Mesa. Afterward, we need to drive to Tucson. Looking for a good (but casual...we'll be dressed for a ballgame) place near Mesa as we head south out of town. In other words, we don't want to drive north to Scottsdale, etc. Thanks for your ideas.

de la Cruz Bistro in downtown Mesa has good Medi/Italian and is very nice. right across from the Mesa Arts center.

Down that way, I'd recommend Cork Restaurant, http://corkrestaurant.net/. Had a great brunch there, and they are not THAT far from the Interstate. Really kind of on your way from Mesa down.

Downtown Chandler has quite a few nice offerings and it's not at all out of the way... La Stalla and Latitude 8 are on the nicer side of the spectrum and both have great food... I've never had El Zocalo but I've heard it's OK... There are quite a few other choices as well...

The San Tan Brewery is someplace that I would go after a ballgame... It's typical Pub fare but the beer is what brings most people there... http://www.santanbrewing.com/
