10 year wedding anniversary first week in April

My husband and I will be staying in the Latin Quarter the first week in April. This is our first time in Paris and we are looking for a romantic restaurant in any neighborhood, about 200e total, on a Thursday night (April 7) and hope it's not too late to book a reservation! First on my list is La Régalade Saint-Honoré for what looks like amazing food, but open to smaller, more intimate bistrots or brasseries. Others on my list include Restaurant Du Palais-Royale, Aux Lyonnaise, Chez L'Ami Jean, Chez Georges, Chez Dumonet-Josephine, Les Papilles. I also considered rooftop terraces, but most views seem better than the food. Any other suggestions?

  1. Except for Palais-Royal, none of those restaurants strikes me as anniversary material. They're very "bistrot" and more appropriate for a gang of happy eaters than a couple celebration, even though I recognize that each couple has their own way to celebrate.

How would you characterize a "romantic" restaurant?

I think Souphie has hit upon the pertinent question; romantic is subjective and different to different people. I feel that you can get decent to very good meals at any of your selections but most would fall far short of Ms. L.'s notion of romantic. She would suggest something more along the lines of La Grande Cascade, which with judicious ordering, especially drinks, might possibly fall into your stated price range.

Thanks souphie and laidback!! We decided to go for Le Petrelle. The food looks simple and unpretentious and the ambiance seems very romantic...all the way down to the cat!

And it is Mrs. Souphie's idea of romantic!
