30" duel-fuel range questions
I'm remodeling my kitchen and, after scaling back my dreams for a 36" Wolfe 6-burner dual-fuel range, have realized my budget requires a mid-priced 30" range. I am considering the GE Profile, which I had in a previous house and liked despite wishing it had a higher BTU output and/or fifth burner, and the KitchenAid, which I wish had only one oven but otherwise seems solid.
Some background: I will use the high heat mainly to boil water quickly and to sear meats -- I don't cook with a wok, e.g. -- so super-high BTU output isn't critical (although would be nice). I use the broiler and oven-roast and pan-roast frequently so I need a self-cleaning oven, thus the dual-fuel requirement. We will probably have a hood with 600 CFM, maybe 900 if we can find a model that powerful to fit our space. I love cooking on gas, so am not yet ready to take the induction plunge.
I'd love any comments on the models above and also suggestions for other brands. I don't have a fixed budget, but would like to stay below $3000.
