Songs about Food and Sex
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some songs that allude to sex and food/cooking, or use food/cooking as a metaphor for sex, or talk about food in romantic terms..
Something LIKE "Come on-a My House" by Rosemary Clooney, but not that one.. but thats the kind of thing I'm looking for.
Any thoughts?

"I like the candy...
I like the chocolate...
The ice cream is very good but...
I just love my lollipop." -
Heard this on the radio this morning and had to share:
Will Downing's "Stuff That I Like"--it's a total kick!
I had to giggle at first listen, but shhhh, I rather like it...is it because I'm a food enthusiast?! ;) -
Donovan Leitch's Mellow Yellow....electrical banana is bound to be the very next phase. quite rightly.

Not exactly what you're asking for, but a fun one:
"Music, Sex, and Cookies": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3E2w6E... -
Too bad about the copyright jitters. Here's the title of a first-rate collection I posted from:
"Raunchy Business: Hot Nuts and Lollypops." Columbia/Legacy CK46783
Includes gems like:
"Sam the Hot Dog Man"
"My Stove's in Good Condition"
"Banana in Your Fruit Basket"
"Butcher Shop Blues"
"Meat Cuttin' Blues"
"Lollypop" -

Just a quick note, folks, that the lyrics of songs are copyright and as such are covered under our copyright policy. It's fine to quote a line or two and link to the information (though lyrics sites are notorious for spyware and such, so please be careful what you link to out of consideration for your fellow hounds) but posting the lyrics to an entire song isn't permitted.
We've removed a number of posts because of this, but if you'd like a copy of your post back, please email us at moderators@chowhound.com and we can send it to you via email.

Was looking at a recipe for pound cake this morning and realized there's one more from Van Halen:

just thought of another one: "Jack & Diane" by John Cougar Mellencamp...
Suckin' on a chili dog outside the Tastee Freez,
Diane's sittin' on Jackie's lap, he's got his hands between her knees.›4 Replies-
re: goodhealthgourmet
Wow. I can't believe I didn't think of that! Kudos, ghg. Damn. Way too many of my childhood memories involve me in the backseat of an LTD screeching, "Tastee Freez! Tastee Freez!", inciting my (usually hostile) brothers into joining my lobby. That beautiful swirl cone icon. *sigh*
And growing up with that song, too. Well played, girl.

oh and of course, every song by Cibo Matto is about food, and presumably about sex:

How 'bout "Ice Cream Man" by Tom Waits?

OK, how 'bout "Ice Cream Man" by Van Halen? ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2RKWJ..."I'm your ice cream man, stop me when I'm passin' by.
See, now all my flavors are guaranteed to satisfy!"-

re: goodhealthgourmet
Ooooh, there is also a "so bad you can't look away" video for a song called Ice Cream Truck by Cazwell (Wikipedia calls him "an American rapper and songwriter. His work focuses on gay and bisexual urban themes"). Not appropriate for children, workplaces, conservative viewers, etc. You've been warned.

On my own, I could think of ONE, "Brown Sugar,", by the Stones. But then my husband got up, and I turned him onto this thread, and after one (1!) cup of strong coffee, he came up with:
Banana in your Fruitbasket - Bo Carter
Pecan Pie - The Golden Smog
Candy Shop - .50Cent
Peaches &Cream - 112
Sugar on my Tongue - Talking Heads
Breakfast in Bed - Loudon Wainwright
I Want Candy - Bow Wow Wow
And the inimitable Memphis Minnie (those old blues singers had it GOING ON, didn't they?)
Gonna Bake My Biscuits
You Stole My Cake
My Butcherman
Good Biscuits
Stealing my Pork Chops
I'm sure he'll come up with more, because this man is on a MISSION FROM god!
Yep, he did. "You Can Eat My Cherries, But You Can't Shake My Tree." (?) He doesn't know who wrote or performed it, but there you have it.›2 Replies-

re: mamachef
Other people have already posted the ones I was thinking of - even the more obscure ones.
I don't see this one posted yet
Naeng Myun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5pI7O...It's in Korean, but it's charming - about how a boy is as cold as cold noodle soup but the girl will still persist in expressing her love.

When I eat his doughnuts
All I leave is the hole
Any time he wants to
Why, he can use my sugar bowl
Oh, his baloney's really worth a try
Never fails to satisfy

I'm unfamiliar with the song that you listed but don't want, and am too lazy to go to You Tube, so I'll just give you what popped into my head. There are a few we like that might fit the bill.
One particular one is Cornbread and Butterbeans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xOxHy...
A few more that I can think of:
Angel food, Ani DiFranco
Alabama Song, The Doors
One Bourbon, One Scotch, John Lee Hooker
Marvalene's Kitchen, Malcom Holcombe (this may have been a cover
)I Want a little Sugar in My Bowl, Nina Simone
Ice Cream, Sarah Mclachlan
Baker Baker, Tori Amos (depressing one, though, and becomes very discordant toward the end)
Peaches, The Stranglers
Homegrown Tomatoes (I like the cover by Sexfist, but other artists are going to be easier to find)
Black Coffee (I like Ella's cover for this one . . . though she may have been the original artist, not sure)Good luck.
ETA: I'm pretty sure Peaches is performed by The Stranglers, not The Strangers, and have corrected it.
