Staying at Biltmore in April- 2 nights off property?

We will be staying at the AZ Biltmore in April and have 2 nights to go off property for dinner. We'd like to be within 10-15 minutes of the hotel. WE'd love one Italian suggestion and one "whatever" be it steakhouse/sushi/contemporary american (lame description). Spending less would be swell too.

Dinner for 2 (alchol not included) in the $100-$150 range is the upper end of what we'd like to do. Atmosphere is important to us, and I know there will be some great food we might miss because of it.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

I had dinner last year at Lon's at the Hermosa Inn and it was very fine. Contemporary American with a Southwestern flair. The restaurant is beautiful, too.

Just returned from Phoenix. Our best meal was at City Hall Steakhouse. May be a tad above your price point, however. Super food at The Mission. The Happy Hour food and drink at Wild Fish are excellent and a steal. Happy Hour prices all night Sunday and Monday.

Thanks. The happy hour suggestion might be a fun idea for an early evening. I will investigate City Hall too. Price will be OK. I just wanted to stay away from dinner for 2 being $500.

City Hall rocks, it is a Masto's location. dinner for two with minimal vino is usually around $200, with salds, entree, sides, and maybe desert. Also try Marcellino for Italian, or Eddie's House for comfort food.

If you like Ribeye and FnB has it on the menu when you are here that might be a good try, i think you will be pushing your budget at City Hall

sushi avoid stingray at the biltmore - if you want to travel about 20 or so min or so you can get to Sushi Broker for happy hour, that would be good quality and value and be under your budget, i dont think the value is there not for happy hour though - good quality regardless

There is a total wine closeby you could pick up a nice bottle there and hit up Coup de Tartes BYOB french/mediterranian

We have stayed at the Biltmore several times and always end up going to Lon's at the Hermosa which is fab...J&G Steakhouse in the bar for the $19 burger and beer special by Jean George.
I like Durant's downtown for the sheer old school relish tray, strong drinks and a baked potato and cold salad with the best blue cheese dressing.
            T. Cooks at the Royal Palms resort to dine for dinner or go and listen to Dwight work that piano like nobodys business and have drinks and app's.
Happy Hour at Montelucia resort is great too.

            Have fun..

Thanks everyone for the great ideas! I am happily checking these all out online. Wish ChowHound had existed when we starting going farther afield years ago. I was flying blind back in the day!

              Cheers.
