FYI Takamatsu Tucson
Takamatsu, the Korean/sushi bar restaurant in east Tucson that closed due to a fire last year, looks to be gearing up to opening again. At first they said they were definitely rebuilding, but several months went by without any visibly obvious construction from the street side, leading people to wonder if they were going to reopen at all.
the other day on the way to work I saw a tractor-trailer unloading a ton of drywall into the yard, which I took to be a really good sign. On the way home the next day I saw lots of crates in the yard that were about the right size and shape to be grill tables sitting next to the big stacks of drywall or sheetrock or whatever it was.
It looks like Takamatsu will be back- and that's really good news to me.

I've had their buffet lunch twice now, and I like it a lot. Their sushi offerings are more varied than most buffets, and have a more house-made taste- a lot of sushi at AYCEs seem prefab. They have a good selection of dishes, both Korean and Japanese, and unless you really look down your nose at buffets (a popular pastime, it seems) in general, it's a good place for lunch.
