Where can I get a good pre-season Fenway-style sausage, pepper, and onion sub?

I searched the board but no luck : got a craving for a sausage, pepper, and onion sub. Don't want to wait until Sox opening day April 1. Where do I go??

I can't tell you if it's good or not (the smell always makes me a little queasy), but there's a sausage cart on Washington St. at the far end of Macy's, near Eddie Bauer. It's been there pretty much every weekday that I've walked past.

I seem to remember that Il Panino Express had them, but I could be wrong. They do have a great sausage and rabe sub (had an even better version at Artu last week). Pace's in the Financial District had them, perhaps someone can weigh in on whether they have them in the NE location?

The American side of the menu at O Senhor Ramos, a/k/a The Snack Bar, in East Cambridge. The Azorean side of the menu is more interesting, in my book, but they are a creditable American sub shop, too. Try the Portuguese Man o' War sub there some time, a doozy.

I went about four years ago and I could smell them cooking a mile away. :)
