Raw Quinoa?

I just made a batch of parsnip cookies (yum!) but I'm a total doofus and forgot to cook the quinoa that I put in the recipe. I googled it and it seems like raw quinoa can mess up your stomach pretty bad...but would they be okay if it was baked in these cookies? I ate one and it tasted so good that I really don't want to throw them away. The raw quinoa was kind of crunchy and reminded me a lot of using raw millet seed in some muffins.

  1. Yes you can eat raw quinoa, If you are worried about it look up raw chocolate bars with quinoa they are about $5.00 each from wild oats and vitamin cottage. As long as you did not get sick form your cookies I say that you should enjoy them.Just remember that too much of anything can make you sick.

    1. it's the blast of fiber from the quinoa that can cause discomfort from eating it raw. make sure to eat these cookies sparingly and drink LOTS of water.

      1. I'm intrigued! Can you post a recipe or point me in the right direction for parsnip cookies?
