It was quite pleasant. Maybe not my new favorite in downtown St. Pete, but enjoyable nonetheless. We received excellent service (even our labs were treated well and their water bowl was kept topped off), the bay view was very nice and food was good. The spousal unit especially liked the French Onion Soup. I got the fish and corn chowder, which was also tasty. No pate on the menu yesterday, however, which bummed me out a little. We enjoyed our entrees of Bar Steak Frites and Rainbow Trout...not in a "we'll be talking about it for days" kinda way, but I was happy with the quality of everything we tried. The desserts were the best (Chocolate Nut Bread Pudding with Brown Sugar Ice Cream and Apple Gallette with Caramel Sauce and Cardamom Ice Cream), but they were REALLY stingy with the ice cream toppers (couldn't have been more than a 1 oz. scoop on either...just enough to make this hormonal woman even angrier). ;) $140 after tip seemed a tiny bit high considering our alcohol consumption consisted of two beers, a small carafe of wine ($14...not bad) and an after dinner drink...but as they say, "Location, location, location".
We went Saturday too after the Farmer's Market, had a house-made veggie burger (which was really good) and some absinthe, and my buddy had the blackened mahi sandwich. Server was nice. Went across the street to the Ale and Witch afterward, great craft beer spot.
