I swung by the other day to see how much it would cost to get some knives professionally sharpened. I think the shop was called Funk's. Did they move? Go out of business? Are there any alternatives?

  1. They went out of business about 2 years ago IIRC. I was at Williams Sonoma in Crabtree Mall a year or two ago and they had a recommendation for a fellow, I think he was mobile. Give them a call, perhaps they still have his cards. That's the only option I'm aware of...Please post if you locate something. I was just thinking my knives could use sharpening!

    1. Don't know if you want to drive this far, but Kitchenworks in University Mall in Chapel Hill does knife sharpening.

      1. You might be thinking about Beck's Cutlery which closed down a couple of years ago in the MacGregor plaza. Last I knew, Beck's had a trailer at the State Farmers Market (three days a week) and could sharped while you shopped. Had mixed results for my Globals but might be worth a shot.

Kitchenworks was the other recommendation but haven't tried them yet, that is a drive for me!

        1. I think I found the card for the fellow WS suggested. I have never used him. The card indicates free p/u and delivery, minimum of 5 knives:
