Looking for someone to clean/fix a burnt saucepan in Vancouver

I left a stainless steel saucepan on the stove and the bottom is ruined. Does anyone know of any place in the Vancouver area that can fix this? I have tried cleaning it with baking soda and will try a few other things on my own, but I wanted to put the question out there right away.

Thanks
James

  1. how about getting it powder blasted?go to an industrial coating shop and see if they have a powder blaster(most just sand blast) ,you need a powder blaster.

Well that definitely would work. I'll try a few less extreme fixes, first, though ;)

      Thanks

    2. I would try "Bar Keeper's Friend" before anything too drastic.

I certainly will. I also read (on this site) that a sheet of Downy soaked in the pan could work. Sounds weird, but I'll try it if the Bar Keeper's Friend doesn't do the trick.

If the damage is purely aesthetic, then a good workout with Barkeepers Friend should do the trick. You can even try using an electric car polisher to speed up the process.

Maybe a picture will allow us to see the extent of the burn.

        2. Some restaurants apparently have an acid dip bath they use for cleaning stainless steel items (for example, the grill pans in Korean BBQ restaurants, which get really blackened). If your pot is all stainless steel (no plastic handles), you might be able to get a restaurant to drop it in their acid dip bath for you.

          1. i know this is a silly comment, but i'm assuming that you've already tried scrubbing with a stainless steel pad thing? or a brillo pad? just asking cause I never realized how well those work until I tried one for the first time just a couple of years ago LOL

            1. If it's all stainless steel, w/o copper or aluminum - would oven cleaner do the trick?
