Looking for a causal lunch spot in Charlotte where I can enjoy the spring weather, eat a late lunch and have some drinks. Staying Uptown & hoping to eat nearby.

  1. I wouldn't recommend it today or this weekend, but the terrace at Ri-Ra is a nice spot to have lunch, a few drinks and check out the street scene below.

    1. Halcyon at the new Mint Museum uptown has an amazing outdoor terrace with an incredible view of the city, not to mention the best food you can find downtown.

      1. If you're lucky enough to catch it on a good service day, the patio at Cafe Monte is pleasant, but this is at South Park, and I just noticed that you mentioned Uptown...oops.

        1. There are actually several good spots for eating outside here. We recently had lunch at Luce located at the Hearst Tower. They have a prix fixe lunch menu that is a really good deal http://www.luceristorante.net/lunch.html - I enjoyed everything I ordered. We mentioned that it was a co-worker's birthday, and the waitress brought complimentary tiramsu and Italian meringues for dessert. Their sister restaurant, Coco Osteria, has a few outside tables also.

King's Kitchen has covered outdoor seating on a nicely sized patio. The view is not so great, but the food is good.

Mimosa has outdoor seating on the Wachovia Plaza. I think they do a great lunch - but more expensive than the Luce deal.

Nix Burger's sets up tables in good weather.
