HELP! Best fried chicken in Richmond, VA?
In Richmond for the weekend and have a HUGE craving for fried chicken. Is Lee's the best in town or is there some other non-chain place that I should consider for good ol fashioned Southern Fried Chicken?
Thanks for any input!

I havent gotten there yet because it is way out of the way for me , but I hear Dixie Chicken in the Westover area is THE best, hands down. buttermilk brined , cooked in lard. They also have pork belly sandwiches.
I really want to get there soon but have a lot of things going on that prevent me from taking the time to get there (especially since they shut down in the mid afternoon and open again for dinner, and are closed on Sundays and Mondays)
Also, while I like Aw Shucks, for my money the best fried chicken in that area is around the corner from there , down Ashland road, at the Wise Choice Citgo.
Wise Choice citgo has good fried chicken and also awesome chicken tenders ( I think they are good, and I normally dont even like chicken tenders) . they also have fried whiting (think it is whiting) on Wednesdays and Fridays and Fried pork chops on Mondays. The specials usually run out but the chicken and tenders are pretty much there whenever they are open in my experience. I know Wise Choice closes on Sundays.

re: jeanmarieok
So last weekend I FINALLY got to Dixie Chicken and the chicken is excellent. They must buttermilk brine a long long time, like maybe overnight? They cook it fresh when you order it. Very very tasty. Also, it was lighter than I thought it would be, even though (or perhaps BECAUSE) it is cooked in lard.
