Family dinner in Scottsdale
We are staying at the Four Seasons Scottsdale with our kids (5 and 2). So many of the recommendations in Scottsdale sound great (FnB, Binkley, Kai, Quiessence, etc) but they do not seem at first glance to be kid friendly. We have adventurous eaters who are used to going to restaurants. Anyone have a recommendation for places to eat with young kids? Thanks!

I have a 6 yr old and a 3 yr old who have been eating around AZ for a long while. The 6 month old doesn't count in this case. :)
Our kids love the following places:
FnB - make sure you get a res if you go here. We used to go here all the time with the kids but it's gotten so busy that there is no way you can just pop in. They're great with food nerd kids who behave.
Crudo - while the atmosphere is kind of bizarre - in the front of a hair salon - the kids go nuts on the crudos. Also cool to kids.
Noca - amazing food. Great to kids.
Petite Maison - little more casual but our kids crave their mussels. Also super nice to kids.
Iruna - kind of fun with the small plates & have been cool to the kids.
Posh - again our kids love it, a bit fancier & they're very cool. The problem is that you're way, way in north Scottsdale. All of these places are in old town (since we live nearby).
With the attitude at Binkley's, I would expect they would be cool with kids as long as yours are well behaved. I'm guessing that if you have adventurous eaters that are used to going to restaurants, you're not going to have a problem. Binkley's has a pretty casual atmosphere and they have always been crazy nice.
I haven't been yet but Cafe Bink is a more casual outpost by the same people. I've been hearing good things lately. Might check that out.
You might also check out Andreoli. It's a bit further north. Very casual. Killer food. If Dom's around, I'm sure he'll pipe in on it.

If the kids are at all into food, the parade of amuse bouches at Binkley's should keep their attention. On our last visit, I think that we did a six-course tasting, but I counted 13 courses, by the end of the night.
Kids would love the "cotton candy" at NOCA, but it IS a trek over from the Four Seasons.
In the "good old days," I would have recommended Mosaic up there, but it is no more.
Enjoy,
Hunt
PS - Have not done Cafe Bink, so cannot comment, even for adults.

Well, Scottsdale is about 5 miles wide, but 2,500 miles long - OK, that is an exaggeration, but not THAT much.
At the Four Seasons, you are close to Binkley's, which is great. Not having children, I cannot comment on that aspect.
Kai is wonderful, but from you, is a limo ride of about 45 mins., if there is any traffic. Well worth the effort, but not easy to get to.
FnB is fine for small-plates, but that is their only "claim to fame" in my book. Nothing to get excited about, though they DO have an interesting AZ wine list. They are within a medium drive, but not worth a limo, IMHO.
My past rec. for your "neighborhood," Mosaic, is no longer, and I have no idea who replaced them.
Sorry to not have any great, kid-friendly recs. Others will.
Enjoy,
Hunt
