Graduation dinner for six on the westside--suggestions?
We'd like something with good food (duh!), a relatively quiet atmosphere (for the 80 year old grandparents), and options for vegetarians. I've seen chowhound suggestions for Tavern, Wilshire, and Bastide. Other family members have suggested Campanile and Shutters at the Beach. Melisse (mmmmm) has no reservations available, otherwise that would have been my first choice.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks for any help!

Of the three, I think Bastide is the most "special occasion." I really enjoyed our graduation dinner there last May, though I understand there's a different chef now. My second choice would be Tavern, but only because the dining room is beautiful. I know I'm in the minority, but I think Tavern and Wilshire are way overrated on this board.

Fig at the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica. Very good food and many vegetarian choices.
