Leaside area lunch

froglegs Mar 16, 2011 11:44 AM

I'm meeting an old friend in Leaside, for lunch. I am supposed to choose a place since she is coming from east end.
I know there are many restaurants along Bayview, south of Eglinton and also along Mt Pleasant.
What's good what's not? What's open for lunch? Just want decent food, time to linger and chat, not too noisy.
I have been to Amaya. That's about it. Been a long time since I've been in this area. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thx.

Olde York is a great place but busy and quite noisy and if you go later in the week you may not get a parking spot.

Olde York has crowded tables and is not conducive to lingering and chatting.
They expect to turn the tables every 20-30 minutes.

Used to live in the area and I like Simple Bistro on Mt Pleasant.

Might try this place or Debu. Appreciate everyone's input. Not going for another week yet so still have time to decide.

Debu's does an interesting multi-course prix fixe for $20. Pleasant space, subdued.
