Legal Seafood

Did Legal Seafood at the Palisades Mall close. If so, has anything replaced it?

  1. Yes it closed, but I don't know what replaced it.

Thank you. Luckily, the one in White Plains in still open.

I think they've been closed for at least a year.

    2. Legal is pretty spartan inside and pricing is very high for a chain, IMHO.

Ocean House, Croton, Fish Cellar, Mt Kisco, are much better alternatives.

And if you don't mind " roughing it" by basically eating in a retail fishmonger environment, Conte's in Mt Kisco has the freshest preparations available.

I love Legal Seafoods; it's pretty much the only chain I visit. It's not spartan at all where I am, but it is a pretty hard edged, modern interior. Good pricing for quality, too, with well informed and attentive servers, too.

Fish Cellar also closed. And Ocean House does not take reservations and I refuse to go there and take my chances on getting in (but then again, isn't Contes also no-reservations)?

The Legal in WP is on Restaurant Week if you want to eat there cheaply this week or next.

Wow, I know there were false rumors about Fish Cellar's demise a couple of years ago, but this time it actually happened.

What about Eastchester Gourmet in Hartsdale? There's just something that feels queasy about going to a chain like Legal for seafood... I know Bonefish is AWFUL.

Umm.. Eastchester Fish Gourmet is in... Eastchester, not Hartsdale . I usually like Bonefish (not that there is one in Westchester or Rockland) but my last meal there was not very good.
