HELP - Last Minute Client Dinner

  • 5
  • Share

Hello,

I am in town this coming weekend and have been tasked with organizing a 10 person client dinner for Saturday night. Any suggestions on a place that can accomodate? Ideally, want a Cali/SF experience......not too stuffy, etc.....food to accomodate all tastes, etc.

Realize this is going to be tough, but thanks in advance!

  1. Please specify: -mobility/parking needs, cost per person (with alcohol? without?), dietary restrictions, client type if relevant (dot com'ers and i-bankers may prefer different restaurant styles), set menu ok or individual ordering only?

Check open table for large parties to see some options.

Thanks. We will roll in via cabs, alcohol included, price not really a concern, pharma clients, individual ordering preferred. thanks.

will check open table as you suggest.

It looks like One Market might be available. Solid, Michelin star food, convenient location.

One Market would be perfect. Good rec if you can grab it. Remember: call the restaurant. OpenTable takes a hefty percentage.

Trolling OpenTable, I see heaven's dog has a 6 and an 8:30. 10 there means the private glass room in the back. Even though the food gets a "meh++" around here, I think it's better than that, the cocktails are *OUTSTANDING* (important in a client dinner), the food is very SF, and that private room is sweet. They prefer community ordering - so at least it's not tasting menu style, but not individual either.

Orson has a table at 8. They will be more SF and less stuffy than the others. Also known for good alcohol.

I would phone a couple of places with small private rooms, like Town Hall. And Foreign Cinema.

A place that will certainly have tables, if you get stuck, would be Maya. Recently very overlooked, used to be so solid. As long as they're not from LA or Texas you'll be fine.

AsiaSF only has an early table. Again, you might call.

I cannot agree with your suggestion of AsiaSF at all - talk about high risk. I wouldn't even take clients to Heaven's Dog, given the neighborhood. While I personally like both places, IMO neither is appropriate for an important business dinner.

One Market and Town Hall are great ideas. Foreign Cinema could also be great, especially if they're the type of clients that want to go out drinking after dinner.
