Great salads in Brampton/ Mississauga

My husband is trying to change his lifestyle and eating habits. We recently moved to Brampton and he is wondering where to get a great salad or other healthy foods in the area. Any suggestions are appreciated (especially as his new eating habit are likely to become mine - gotta take one for the team!)

Thanks!

I second the Longo's option. I have worked in Peel Region, often on the road and struggle for healthy options - a well stocked, and carefully selected options can be very healthy.

Longo's Mississauga locations have decent, if not spectacular, salad bars. The store on Hurontario+Ray Lawson(near the court houses) is probably best.

Not a lot of those around I'm guessing. There was a salad place in the Bramalea City Centre, but it folded up a bout 6-8 weeks ago after a short run.

Some of the large Sobeys have those do it yourself salad bars. If you can track down the local Middle Eastern or shawarma place you can probably get a decent salad there, maybe some mujeerah. Veggie Vietnamese subs in the Chinese at Clarence and Kennedy.

Building your own lentil or bean or couscous or tomato salads at home is simple to do and they offer the virtue of keeping for a coupe of days. Learning to whip up your own salad dressings lets you get by on whatever greens you can find in the area.

I don't know of any "salad eateries" in Brampton, but there's a few in Mississauga.

"Sprouts" at Derry & Financial drive comes to mind, or the new "Freshii" at Mavis & Brittania are both healthy eateries. Freshii specializes in build-your-own salads where Sprouts specializes in fresh veggies and light sandwiches
