12 for a 50th Birthday in May

Food on the brain Mar 15, 2011 04:37 PM

We have 12 adults for a 50th Birthday on a Thursday in May. We need to appeal to the whole range - the top end foodies, the Outback Steakhouse & Olive Garden crowd, and everything in between. No buffets. Good wine, Scotch, & beer selections. We are all staying on the strip between Harrahs and the Bellagio.

The first name that popped into my head given your description is Craftsteak. The menu is nonthreatening but offers much more than steak, including wonderful vegetables and salads, fish, and a fine liquor (especially Scotch) list.

Panevino has a great 'chef's table' for a group of 12 or so. It's well-positioned in the dining room with great sight lines. The bar is delightful for pre-meal gathering and the Italian menu is fantastic. I'm hosting a group there next month after a terrific meal with my wife recently. Strongly recommended.

Canaletto at the Venetian will give a group of 12 a nice private balcony overlooking the canals, I think.
