Pittsburgh bars/restaurants with "get close" seating i.e. sofas, couches, benches?
Hi,
I'm trying to find restaurants and bars with seating that allows me and my date to sit close to each other. Could be a lounge-y atmosphere with sofas or couches. Could be a restaurant with benches on one side (but no chairs on the other, so that it's natural to sit together on the same side). Fireside Lounge comes to mind, but I'm wondering what others there are. Downscale/casual is fine too.
Thanks!
Eric

I'm curious, what did you discover? I am in search of the same thing. Was there one that you preferred??

Hi Kelly,
Not much. I got lots of $$$ recommendations...fine for not-a-first-date. I thought The Firehouse Lounge might be good. The upstairs is a nightmare of "playas," but Embury, downstairs, is a cool place. Not so good for getting close, though.
Casbah is good for getting close over drinks (though not for dinner).
Abay (Ethiopian) could be good if you're adventurous.
Shiloh Grill on Mt. Washington - not great for getting close, but it has outdoor seating and is seconds away from the overlooks.
Happy to continue trading ideas!

Thanks, Eric!! I appreciate the reviews, Fireside did sound good, till you said it was full of 'playas', not so much my croud. I'm 33, a little past the age of the meat market bars :) Just looking for a great place to get close over some drinks.
Casbah, huh, a friend of mine also recommended that place. I'm going to start hunting, will let you know if I turn up any good ones.
