Good restaurant near Pearson?

Hi all,

Meeting a friend that I havn't seen in years near the airport. We are both into "food", and so need a good restaurant recommendation. "Good does not necessarily mean expensive, it just means good! Feel free to recommend at any price points. Does not matter what the cuisine, as long as service is good, and food is prepared well. Also need an atmoshere that is conducive to good conversation where we won't be rushed out. Thx for reading!

Thanks so much for your replies! I assume that you (Yum2MyTum) have eaten at the Grand, just not at dinner time? Will check out both and ask my friend which cuisine she prefers.

Hi xrestogal, I've eaten at the Grand a number of times for dim sum over the last couple of years. Enjoy!

Only ever had dimsum (breakfast/lunch)... some 'very chinese' relatives from China seem to like the dinner there as they take my parents whenever they're in town. Sometimes multiple trips.

I'd heartily recommend Grand Chinese Cuisine, for its creative and delicious dim sum (I haven't been to dinner there and the reviews on this board are less positive). It's at the Doubletree Hilton. The rice roll with cod, grand scallop dumpling, baked cod pastry and green bean jelly dessert are consistently delicious.

Custard tarts are ridiculously expensive but I love them anyway.
Rice roll with cod (and I believe green pea shoots) is a favorite.
