Mainelli's, Providence RI

This place recently got a much-needed makeover from the crew of Restaurant:Impossible on FN. A nice family-run place, they were just a bit inept. Loved the chef, she has a lot of spunk.

Anybody been to this place since the makeover?

I have heard from friends that the food is pretty good. Have not been there myself.

I also heard that a car ran into the side of the building, not sure how much damage or if they are open.

I've been back to Mainelli's a number of times since their 'renovation'. The food is delicious - really home-made Italian, not 'pretentious' (like some other restaurants offer). The prices are more than reasonable. Yes, a car ran into the building a few weeks ago (lesson learned: never use your cell phone when leaving a gas station?) and there was damage to the rear of the building, but they are still open for business.
