Aspirations, Amherst, NH : is it closed?

Just checking to see if anyone knows if anything is going on with that place. I've driven by a few times in the past week and it always seems dark and empty. I looked around online and the only thing I noticed is that the website is unavailable. I was curious if they are just on vacation or if they have recently closed.

  1. I have driven by that place hundreds of times but never went in there - the online menu didn't really jump out and its kind of a weird location that is easy to overlook.

Liked their food but have since moved away from the area and the hell that is Amherst Street.

I agree that the biggest problem is the location. Then, as you said, the menu isn't one that would cause anyone to make an effort to find the place. I went in for the first (and probably only) time on Valentine's Day this year. We had a gift cert. so we went to spend it. We got there late and the cold case was pretty much empty which seemed pretty weird. We were hoping to see some interesting baked goods, but there were only about 5 left (2 being muffins). They were all good, but nothing I'd be excited to try again.

A few years back they were quite good--nice sandwiches and soup combos--they must have gone downhill.

      2. There is a sign on the door that says "closed due to illness".....saw it on the door when I went by last Wed/Thur(?) for a cup of soup, and heard somebody (at A&E) comment that the sign was still up as of Fri.

Thanks! I missed the driveway driving past yesterday and didn't have time to turn in and check it out on the way home!

that driveway is a real challenge, i always want to go in the one that leads to the building in back....

I have pretty much confirmed that they are closed for good. I saw some equipment being taken out of there the other day and their phones and website are done too. I also just heard from a friend that someone else is ready to go in there...possibly an Italian restaurant.

Oh dear, can't say i loved the place but it was the only decent soup/salad/lunch option on Amherst St. I'll miss it on rainy days when I want a cup of soup.
