Late lunch this Thursday in Etobicoke

I'm looking for a recommendation for meeting a friend for lunch.

It has to be someplace that is open and serving around 2:30 or so on a weekday.

My preference is for something small, not too upscale, quiet (which shouldn't be a problem around that time) and not a chain. A bakery/bistro kinda place would be great. Hoping for the option to have a glass of wine too, but that's not critical.

My friend will be heading from there to the subway so something near a metro stop would also be great, but I can drop her off if we end up a bit further away. Thanks.

  1. The kingsway neighbourhood is pretty good for options. It's very subway accessible. Some that come to mind include Momiji sushi (some limited wines by the glass, quite good sushi and some quite decent hot meals eg udon), Merlot (where you can have a nice glass of wine, although it's a bit upscale), for less upscale - Hot oven bakery if you're after a fresh tasty sandwich/panini type main with salad, although no wine. There are several other options in that hood.
