Timmy O's

Anyone know what's going on with Timmy O's? I've walked by twice in the last few weeks and it was closed. Is it only open in the summer months?

    Timmy O's is back!
    He is now located just over the Queens line in New Hyde Park, Nassau County. He is in one of the strangest situations you could imagine. He is one half of a bakery that is often closed when he is open. His only signage is an electric sign in the window that blinks and runs along. The good news is that the custard is still great. Hopefully being next door to an ice skating rink and opposite a movie theatre will help. Lastly, he closes for the winter October 31. The place is east of Southern Spice and west of Sripraphai, two joints that cry out for great ice cream after a meal.

      Wow I failed to read the first sentance and thought it was near the Queens Sripraphai. We can be happy for Timmy.

        I needs some pumpkin custard before his hiatus.

        They haven't opened the shop at all this year. We asked one of the people at Nixtamal if they knew anything about it, and she said that Timmy was having some health problems. I went by Timmy O's today and peeked inside. All of the custard equipment had been removed.

        I hope that he's alright. Both he and his wife were such friendly, welcoming people. Not to mention that I'm jonesing for that custard. It's ruined ice-cream for me forever - even the ice cream at Eddie's Sweet Shop can't compare to Timmy O's frozen custard.

          yeah, he had some back troubles so he's been out for a bit. Hopefully will return soon. Everybody loves Timmy O.

            I really love that place, and like the people who run it. Timmy O's frozen custard is a major pleasure of the warm months around here.

            Hope Timmy's okay. He was dealing with some real pain issues last summer.
