Affordable (keyword: affordable) Afternoon Tea [London]

Hi guys,
I know there are quite a few requests for afternoon tea recommendations out there, but I couldn't quite find what I was looking for. As the title suggests I'm looking for a more affordable afternoon tea experience for a bunch of UCL students. I'm not looking for extravagance, just some decent tea, a scone and a cake or two.

Something along the lines of Bea's of Bloomsbury would be ideal, actually.

Cheers!

I always suggest the Canteen chain to people looking for a light but satisfying afternoon tea experience. They bake the scones several times a day on site, and usually they are still warm from the oven. For £3.50 you can get 2 scones with clotted cream and jam—it's a fantastic deal. They also have a range of cakes (the chocolate beetroot cake is especially luscious) and puddings, so you can get an afternoon tea spread in à la carte fashion.

Their Baker St. location in Marylebone is usually quiet in the afternoons and would easily accommodate a group of students.

Try The Orangerie in South Ken. I think that's south of £20 pp. And a nice place to walk around after.
