Deal Alert - Makiman Sushi

Makiman BYOB often comes up in board discussions, and it is one of my favorite casual, but high quality sushi spots. $15 for $30 at Living Social today, and $30 gets you pretty far at this joint. If you don't have a Living Social account, the link below should take you right to the deal page.

Please let us know your opinion (deluca and everyone else who tries). I did AYCE twice at the Spruce St location, mixed experiences, curious to hear from others who have more sushi knowledge.

I think you're thinking of another place - Makiman is off of Oxford Ave near Veree Rd in the NorthEast. I don't think it is a chain.

They just opened a second location in Center City. The deal is only good for the CC location, as far as I can tell.

Is the one on Spruce the old Misso location?

        1. I go to the Oxford ave one a lot, since I work by there. They have really great sushi. The lunch deals are killer. The Udon soup is really good too. I'll have to check out this coupon, thanks!

          1. Went to Makiman last night for the AYCE sushi. Once you get past the lengthy rules and slow service, the fish is of high quality and we were totally pleased. As a note, order wisely, one of us ordered his final set from the server's suggestions. What came were three rolls of 15 pieces total, he was flummoxed and could not finish the last 5 pieces, an extra $5 was on bill for that gaff. We had had only nigiri before, no rolls.

            1. It's on Groupon again today. Not valid for AYCE however.

              1. Makiman's my regular sushi place, I've been going to the Oxford Ave location for years. Sushi is consistently good, but I can't recommend ordering uni there. They also have an amazing clam soup (hama sui) that I dream about, never had anything quite like it.
