good food but not overly salty???
anyone have any suggestions for good eats that aren't way salty?
Looking for a nice dinner for a solo business traveler (tend to eat at the bar when by myself)
One night near Canal and Carondolet then a couple nights by the airport.
Went to Luke tonight on the recommendation of my hotel. Food wise - very average (& salty). The gumbo we make at home is much better.
thanks!

Near the airport I've been advised to try Ristorante del Piero on Williams near the river and Brick Oven at Williams and Vet's. I've been told to stay away from the place that moved into La Parvenue.
I will be in Kenner for a few nights this week so will be able to try one place out there. One night is already set for the new Zea's on Williams, good basic food but not fine dining.
I generally like low salt and have rarely found New Orleans good restaurants servifnsalty food. The possible exceptions are soups and gumbos that simmer all day, are reduced, and therefore get the salt concentrated when approaching their "use by" time.-----

re: collardman
I did try the Brick Oven. I had a pizza which was quite good. Nice thin crispy crust, not heavy the cheese (my preference), and fresh veggies along with a good italian sausage. It's also right next door to the Crown Plaza which is convenient.

Le Foret on Camp Street, Restaurant August on Tchoupitoulas or Bon Ton on Magazine...not sure of the bar eating capabilities, but you will have a fine meal at any of these places.
Near the airport...slim pickings...try Charlie's Seafood on Jefferson Hwy.
