I'm looking for a good vegetarian Indian restaurant anywhere south of 14th st.. Vegan a plus, but doesn't have to be.

If you don't mind a place that isn't pure vegetarian (i.e. there is meat cooked in the same kitchen), Brick Lane Curry House is better than average for north Indian. The menu includes dishes specified as vegan.

Along the lines of vegetarian friendly (ie the restuarant also serves meat) theres also Salaam Bombay on Greenwich, and a whole bunch of places on 6th between 1st and 2nd near Brick Lane Curry House like Banjara and Haveli. I like Jackson Diner on University Place for the sheer convenience.

Then theres the Hampton Chutney Co - for indian inspired vegetarian options. The Kati Roll Company on Macdougal and Sangam on Bleecker are both good for snacky little things.

For 1$ samosas, there is Lahore Deli on Crosby St.. On the other end of the spectrum, theres Tamarind Tribeca.
