Has anyone had a meal at Sarah Jane's? I was wondering if it is worth a try. It is on Route 206 in Somerville

Great old school restaurant that has been there forever. They have a great salad bar. Yes the atmosphere is dated but everything else make up for it.

Been going to Sarah Jane's since the early 80'ss... when Sarah was still around. Now her son is there and yes, the Shrimp Scampi is what makes our family go back over and over. Get the scampi all alone in a dish - not over pasta - floating in a marvelous garlic sauce - butter and who knows what else. YOU MUST DIP YOUR BREAD IN THIS ELIXIR! Been trying to get the recipe for almost 2 decades to no avail. We now go there Friday nights for their excellent (so far - 3 times) prime rib. The staff is great and jolly. Yes the place is dark-ish, noisy (between 5-7:30 generally when the older crowd is there - over 50 I would guess) but well worth it for us.

Now I must say I love Sarah Jane's shrimp scampi. If you love garlic, you'll love the scampi. Cute, small salad bar comes with your meal. It is a little dark inside, but I'm not usually looking at all the decor when I'm eating. Just my $.02

I'd pass on this one. It's almost depressing with a very dark, drab interior. Food is just mediocre at best.

I was there in 2009 for dinner and it was good. The restaurant is very dark inside and I was the youngest person there and I was 49 at the time. They are known for their burgers. It's a lot better not that smoking is not allowed.
