TN: 2005 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard

dinwiddie Mar 12, 2011 06:09 AM

Excellent example of a Kosta Brown, and for that matter a Santa Lucia Highlands, Pinot Noir. Wonderful expressive nose of fruit and spice. Strawberry, cherry, and an undertone of anise. Not at all hot, with very fine and refined tannins. Somewhat weaker on the mid-palate than I had expected, but a very nice finish. Good mouthfeel and texture, lovely color with no sign of bricking. (93 points)

The 2005 KB's are just a memory for me!!!!! I can't hold them too long without being tempted to pop the cork.

I have some 2007 Kanzlers left and I am sitting on my 2008's.

Which brings another question........what is the longest any of us has held onto a KB mbefore drinking it and how did it hold up?

Actually, I still have a couple of bottles of the '04 Amber Ridge Syrah in the cellar and about 8 various bottles of the '05 PNs.

My last 2007 Kanzler sits down stairs waiting to be consumed. I have many '08's, 09's and 10's that await too!!
