Pescetarian at Heartland?
We're starting a tour of James Beard nominated chefs and beginning at Heartland tomorrow night...wondering if anyone can recommend the best vegetarian or pescetarian meals they've had there? The menu points out a couple obvious choices, but looking from feedback from diners.
It's too hard to pin down like that because as Kevin mentions, it changes "daily". To be honest, what they have today is probably what they'll have tomorrow, maybe with slight tweaks, but within a week it'll be gone. Looks like the only fish right now (probably due to the season) are Steelhead and Rainbow Trout (Steelhead I believe are Rainbows that have been in the sea). One is a starter for the Fauna prix fixe, the other a Large Plate.
My suggestion: call the restaurant to make your reservation. The time I did, I spoke to Chef Russo himself about my vegetarian options. When I dined, I was able to sub the salad starter for a soup (of the same cost). Maybe you could get the Steelhead starter with the other two Veg courses?
