Crown Fried Chicken - Derby, CT slated to come to Derby, CT. There's a sign in the window of the cursed former Quiznos site, a couple doors down from where Town Squire Diner is supposed to go in on Division Street. Sort of interesting in its proximity to KFC and the diner-to-be. Maybe Crown will have better luck than all the previous tenants in that spot.

  1. There are two in Waterbury that I have seen but have not stopped in. Kinda ironic how Pilgrim barbecue is closing and now a new fried chicken place is opening.

I did not know anything was up with Pilgrim until I went to Eddy's this morning, and then you confirmed. Do you know why? Economy? Retiring? People just not going any more? (Guilty on that count.)

I've read mostly good stuff about Crown - it's a franchise, and it looks like what you get largely depends on the franchisee who owns/runs a particular spot.

    2. Crown FC seems to be in the middle of an expansion. A number of new locations in the past year. They are adding a third location in Worcester. Good prices, great hours. Good chicken, though I think Kennedy FC has the best, though I guess with these sketchy chains quality varies by location.

      1. The Crown Fried Chicken in New Haven is pretty bad. I don't know if it's the same owners as these others mentioned in this thread.
