where is the best, authentic falafel? every since i trip to israel im been looking for something that resembles what i had there (tasty & even a lil green inside) & i find most places here to be a lil dry n bland. anywhere good i can go?
The pickins are slim but there is a place called Ta'im (I am probably spelling it wrong) in Hastings and Open Table in Eastchester. I have only tried Open Table and it is ok. Probably not the most amazing in the world, but it is a lot better than those dry bland falafels you describe. There's an Indian Snack place in Hartsdale that supposedly does falafel, but I can't vouch for it. Name of the place is Masala Kraft.
Although now I realize you are talking about Long Island....OOPS.

try Hummus World in Roslyn on Lincoln Avenue; just down the block from Roslyn High School
17 Lincoln Ave Unit A, Roslyn Heights, NY 11577
Another fan of Hummus World. It's glatt kosher, too. Owner/operators are Israeli. And their chicken soup will clear your sinuses and cure your cold simultaneously. Falafel, shawarma, hummus, soup, small place, mostly for takeout, about four tables, plus a few outside in nice weather.
