Feedback on Alpine Tavern in Vail, CO

Has anyone eaten at Alpine Tavern in Vail? I am thinking of trying on an upcoming trip and don't remember ever hearing about it before. Thanks.

Noew Chef and food is not German style anymore. Worth the stop!

Alpine Tavern is in Vail Racquet Club, which is not at the Vail Golf Club. Exit 180, Bighorn Road West, R at second Streamside Circle exit.

The have a nice bar / casual dining area upstairs (with live music many nights). The bar does get crowded (probably because it's really the only bar in East Vail). The menu is German-based and good.

This is the first time I have heard of Alpine Tavern. I wonder if Blue Ox knows about it? Looks like it was new about a year ago. It is in the Vail Racquet Club, which I think is at the Vail Golf Club. I've never been overly impressed with country club restaurants, but the reviews on Trip Advisor and Open Table are very positive. I hope you will try it and give us feedback. The menu looks good -- and extensive. (I would watch out for that "Half Roasted Duck," though!)

Thanks. If my friend is up for it, we will try the week after next and I'll let you know. I think I have been to whatever used to be in that location several years ago. Easy enough to get to from Vail Village transportation center.

DD, The Alpine Tavern is in East Vail and we rarely get out there in the winter. The Lodge had been remodeled a couple of years ago and restaurant reopened as the AT. The chef/owner has a good reputation and I've heard a couple of positive comments about it.
