Please tell me Mustard Seed Bistro (Plantation) is good!

  • 8

OK after a week of narrowing down menus and maps etc. I think I found the place for our anniversary and it's not too far from our hotel. Don't want to trek around too much as we fly in late that afternoon.

Anybody have some good feedback?

  1. Mustard Seed Bistro is excellent. Although CH displays the now-closed Cooper City site, the Plantation location (University, coupla blocks south of Broward) is delightful. Call 'em to see if the the crab and scallop risotto is being served on the night you're going. It might not be as romantic a setting as you want for an anniversary dinner, but the food, ambiance and service are all top notch. Good choice.

I would say Mustard Seed Bistro is fine for a regular dinner, not wonderful, but pretty good...If you want an excellent restaurant with a setting more worth of your anniversary, try Josef's. Went with friends a few weeks ago and we wouldn't rush back.

huh? it's excellent but you wouldn't rush back? Or was Mustard Seed the one you wouldn't rush back to? Or was it just a typo?

You mis-read what I wrote...Try again...Josef's is excellent, Mustard Seed is "pretty good."

I guess it was the "we wouldn't rush back" part that had me confused.

    2. We usually go to the Mustard Seed for lunch and it's very good. If you're looking for something "special" for your anniversary, I wouldn't recommend it. If you want good food in a fine atmosphere, I'm sure it will work.

I agree. Very good food; nice, concise wine list; but not quite that "special setting".

I believe I have been to Josef's and it was good, though a little awkward the day I went. There was a place in Broward... I believe Valentino's...very pricey for the location but it was excellent and a little bit throwback in style. Great execution of more traditional dishes (ie no Asian influence, preparations or ingredients)

We love Valentino's, but it's pretty far east from Plantation.
