I'll be in Montreal for a day, but a Monday. I can't for the life of me find a really good place to eat that is open. Help.

  1. Might wanna add a little more context? Do you have a car or easy transportation? Will u be alone or with someone? Is it a date? Business? And budget?

    1. If you can arrive at 5pm to get in line and eat at after 5:30pm, go to Kazu!
If you don't want to wait, go to Imadake instead.

      Both are japanese izakaya style.

I eat at Izakaya's quite often when I'm in Vancouver on business. Do you know how these would compare?

        Thanks.

      2. Lunch or supper?

I'll be alone and I'm hoping to have a nice dinner. Budget isn't really an issue nor is location (to a degree... I'm staying at the Meridian Versailles on Sherbrooke). I have looked into Joe Beef, PDC, Kitchenette, Kitchen Galerie and Au 5ieme Peche, but they're all closed on Monday's (zt alors...).

          thanks!

Cava on avenue du Parc is open monday nights as is Lemeac on Laurier ; both are short cab rides from where you are staying.

        2. How about Restaurant Bice two blocks from your Hotel. Open Monday's

          1. If I have guests in town, my go-to Monday night restaurant is L'Express

                  Decca 77
                  Magnan's
                  La Montée de Lait
                  Au Petit Extra
                  Vegera

And you have Brasserie T! there twice. I concur that the food there is good, but not twice as good as the other restaurants listed.

                  1. re: sarahinmtl

Newtown is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Thanks all for your help... I ended up at Laloux, which was great. I enjoyed a fine late-March snowstorm from a very pleasant seat and can only complain that the Berber-spiced potatoes that accompanied the duck were a little too Berber-spicy & overwhelmed the otherwise fine Cote-de-Rhone Villages I was drinking.

                    2. Cocagne is another great option,( they are closed on tuesdays)
