Saturday breakfast in Old Town

Olive123 Mar 10, 2011 08:39 AM

My husband and I will be staying at the Morrison House in Alexandria for a Friday night after a dinner at Restaurant Eve. We would like to have a tasty breakfast before we head back to NY the next afternoon. Any suggestions in the area? Morrison House is pretty pricey for breakfast - after Eve and some other nicer dinners during the week I don't really want to spend $70+ for breakfast. We need to leave Old Town by 12:30/1 pm so it can't be someplace that starts serving brunchy items at noon-ish. In case it matters, I am a vegetarian (husband is not). Thanks so much in advance! We are really looking forward to another DC food-based trip.

Thanks for the suggestions! Looks like they do serve brunch at Vermillion on Saturdays so we will try for that. I will even reserve just to be safe so we get out at the necessary time. Vermillion is one of the restaurants I keep meaning to try but always run out of time on my DC trips, so this is a great opportunity.

I don't know if Vermillion serves Saturday, but they have an awesome Brunch - as a Vegetarian you will love the Beet salad with Crispy Feta....

        I'd probably recommend Hank's Oyster bar: http://www.hanksdc.com/menu.html

        Or Jackson 20: http://www.jackson20.com/menu.php?sec...
