  1. I can't imagine that Pasquale Bros. wouldn't have it: http://pasqualebros.com/
Likely to be found cheaper at No Frills and so on, though, if they do carry it. I'd check the international-foods section, if there is one, or call and ask someone in the grocery dept.

    1. NoFrills often have a small Middle Eastern section with vine leaves, tahini, orange and rose water, couscous, etc. That's usually where to find it. "Cedar" brand is probably the most common.

      1. alrighty, i'll check my local no frills tonight (not holding my breath because i'm normally disappointed when i go there looking for something specific).

tks for the pasquale bros tip ... i never even thought of that!

        1. Try any Punjabi Grocery Store or you can make your own with pomegranate juice which is a bit of a pain because you have to boil down the pomegranate juice until it is syrupy.

            Hi,
Do you know of any Punjabi grocery stores in Etobicoke? I'm relatively new to the area, still.

http://www.mastindia.com/toronto/t_gr... is a listing of Indian grocery stores in Mississauga etc. There is also the Indian Punjabi Bazaar which has several locations. I am not from your area so I recommend you call first. The one I shop at in Hamilton has the most helpful staff and will even order stuff in if enough people request it.

I can put you in touch with a "definite" source in Mississauga if that's not too far, though I suspect it is.

nope ... mississauga is not to far. i work in mississauga. i might actually be heading to planet organic tonight (for another product).

OK, then make a trip to the all-but-invisible Town&Country Market hidden behind the Shell station at Hurontario+Fairview Rd., just south of Central Pkwy. Great Lebanese grocer packed with nice stuff. Try it sometime.

tks for the tip ... next time i'm in the area, i'll check it out! i'll try pasquale bros this friday as i'm off work and it's much closer.

            2. When I lived in the West end I used to get mine at this Iraqi nut shop in a plaza at Hwy 10 and Dunday on Hurontario on the East Side. Can't remember the name. If you see a nut shop, he's the only one there, He has it. He also has the nicest selection of nuts including roasted, salted,in the shell, almonds... just thinking about them has me wanting to make a little trip out there. He also sells those really long dark sunflower seeds and has terrific nougat treats. The owner is a very sweet guy... they encourage you to "try before you buy" so you know what you're getting. Pretty happy about that because I loved the look of one thing but couldn't handle the spicyness.

              2. hey everyone,

tks for all the tips. i went to pasquale bros today and picked up a 500ml bottle for $6.99. pricey? maybe. but i'm paying for convenience that this point. i'll check out the mississauga recos next time in the area.
