Yes - glad to have a good Indian restaurant back on the North Shore. Their onion kulcha is the best and we also love the Dal Makhani.

I liked it, too. Just not best of all LI, but it's quite good.

We only do buffets, but our favorite is Kiran Palace in Hicksville.

You probably won't find better Indian food than at New Chilli & Curry in Hicksville, which also has some Chinese, Thai and Malaysian dishes. Not fancy but very friendly. Amazing food that's not dumbed down.

Ditto. Used to be Kiran Palace, but much of that crew left over 5 years ago and opened New Chili & Curry. Menu is almost the same - but quality has been more consistent. Get dahiwala baingan!

I second this, love this restaurant, love the owners/hosts. For strictly Indian (not Thai and Hakka Chinese), we also like: http://royalbukharagrill.com/ Bukhara Grill Spice Rave in Hicksville.

Indian folks we know say that Akbar in Garden City/Roosevelt Field is the best on LI. It is very good, but I have never seen servers move so slowly in my life. :-
