Favorite lemon bar recipe?

Hey all,

I searched the boards, but could not find a good lemon bar recipe. Does anyone have any good, creamy and tart lemon bar recipes? I have a ton of lemons I have decided to turn into tasty treats.

    1. My favorite has been Cooks Illustrated Best Recipe's made with meyer lemons. I think it's been posted on these boards before but I can post it if you want it but can't find it.

        I just made the recipe from the Joy of Cooking (except with double the lemon juice) and they are DELICIOUS, but I think I may try the CI recipe next time - it's fairly similar, but I have a feeling their technique will produce a lighter textured crust. The JOC recipe has a great filling to crust ratio and lots of tart lemon flavor if you double the lemon juice, but the crust might be just a little too leaden/buttery.

              I love lemon desserts, but sometimes find lemon bars are just too too sweet. David Lebowitz recently had a lemon bar that used the whole lemon (well everyting but the seeds). It has a bit of texture and is tart but super easy to make. My husband and I loved it.

                  Second this, third this. I have made DL's recipe twice in the last few weeks, a HUGE hit with both crowds. Leftovers taste even better. In one batch I mixed a small handful of chopped dried cranberries into the crust.

              2. I love the Barefoot Contessa recipe. I add zest to the crust as well as the filling.
