McVeighs New Windsor Tavern, Church & Richmond. Get there very early.

THE best place by a mile is the brampton irish centre (the cultural irish society).....but, it's in brampton, and among the industrial sprawl. however, easily the best., hands down.

otherwise, authentic and good = tara inn, mcveighs, mccarthy's, shamrock & thistle, dora keough to name a few.

You dont have to go to an irish pub on St Pattys, most bars will be irish'd up for that day, with green beer and perhaps some food item. Its like a bar holiday, so go to your favorite bar and enjoy green beer there!

Irish Embassy in downtown TO. Be prepared for huge lineups though as we have ended up at the Marche due to the huge waits at most pubs. Marche serves green beer minus the wait (you won't have the same ambiance but depending on the size of your group it can still be fun. I also recommend corks in the new longos at Maple Leaf Square, not your traditional pub atmosphere but nice and relaxed.
