An unfamiliar poster's name showed up where my username(view profile) usually appears

I glanced up at the top left corner where my user name normally appears in both Chow and Chowhound. Much to my surprise the name Bovinekid was there. Not a user I remember crossing path's with and certainly nobody who should be logged in on my computer. The only other person with physical access to my computer is not this user and they don't live in my area... Weird, and unnerving.

We've had problems with that in the past, and while it's kind of weird, it didn't turn out that you were actually logged in as someone else. I'll let our Engineering team know.

Thanks for following up, I was contacted by engineering. Do I need to worry that this other user (they do have posts) has some sort of access to my computer?

No, I don't think you need to worry. My recollection from last time around was that it was just overzealous caching that was serving you pages that looked like they were for someone else.
